Man nabbed for defiling a minor in Adamawa

According to media report, a 35-year-old man, Abdullaziz Mohammed, has been apprehended by the Adamawa State Police Command for allegedly defiling a five-year-old minor in the state.

CSP Suleiman Nguroje, the command’s Public Relations Officer, indicated in a statement on Wednesday that the Commissioner of Police, Dankwambo Morris, places the highest importance on combating sexual and gender-based violence across the state.

He said, “The Adamawa State Police Command has again apprehended a 35-year-old man, Abdullaziz Mohammed, for allegedly defiling a five-year-old minor in Mubi North Local Government Area.

“The arrest followed a complaint lodged by the victim’s father, at the Mubi North Divisional Police Headquarters that on March 17, 2025, the suspect lured his daughter into his grinding engine shop located at Kasuwan Borkono, Mubi North, and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her, knowing full well that she is a minor.”

The statement revealed that the CP assigned operatives from the Mubi Division to take immediate action.

The victim was immediately rushed to the medical facility in Mubi for medical examination and treatment.

He stated that during interrogation, the suspect admitted to committing the crime and is currently in custody for a thorough investigation.

The state police chief condemned the act in the strongest terms and ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Yola for a comprehensive and thorough investigation to ensure justice is served.

“The Adamawa State Police Command remains committed in its fight against all forms of sexual abuse and gender-based violence,” he added.

The command also urged parents and guardians to vigilantly monitor their children and wards and report individuals with suspicious behavior to the police
