The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has come out with a reaction over the continued buildup of the military in parts of the South East geo-political zone.
MASSOB, haven observed daily deployment of more soldiers especially in villages and strategic roads, declared that the zone was in no way a conquered territory.
MASSOB md the declaration in its statement after its National Executive meeting at MASSOB headquarters, Okwe, Onuimo LGA, Imo state which also coincided with one year anniversary of the incumbent leadership under Uchenna Madu.
It condemned in totality the recent declaration of the Nigerian Army on operation Python Dance in Biafra land.
According to the group, “The meeting which was presided by our leader, Comrade Uchenna Madu at Okwe resolved as follows:
(1) That operation Python dance as recently launched by the Army(only in the South East)is another dimension of war prosecution by the President Muhammadu Buhari led Federal Government against Ndigbo, it also amount to political declaration of state of emergency in the five South East States.
(2) That Army headquarters with their ulterior negative motives started this annihilating operation on Nov 27 without any public enlightenment and orientation in other to maim and subdue the people of Biafra.
(3) That their main primary target and reasons of this operation is not against pro Biafra groups as we have no public functions in this Christmas season, their plan of annihilation is against the people of Biafra mostly the Igbos during this Christmas period through intensive pressurised monetary extortion, harassment/ intimidation, mesmerization and secret / extra judicial killings of Ndigbo because of current Biafranization of Igboland and Ndigbo.
(4) That Christmas season is a period of Igbo gathering with much concentration in Igboland . So to the military, it’s a fertile land/period and opportunity for creating fears/ tensions among our people which they thought will derail the love, confidence and consciousness of Biafra, especially those who came in from all other parts of the world to join their lights and kin in celebrating the Christmas and New Year.
(5) That this is an extension of Buhari led administration forceful islamisation of Igboland through military fears and religious intimidation. This operation is also designed to demoralize the people of Biafra from returning home for the Christmas celebration.
(6) That this military operation is beyond Igbo leaders including the Governors and National Assembly members.
(7) That in commemoration of the one year anniversary of the current leadership of MASSOB which was observed with prayers for the release of Nnamdi Kanu and others.
At the end of the meeting, MASSOB also came up with a new designation for its leader Comrade Uchenna Madu declared that henceforth, he should be addressed and identified as “The Servant Leader of MASSOB”.
In the release which was signed by its National Director of Information, Comrade Samuel Edeson, Madu wished to be seen and addressed as servant leader to the people of Biafra.
This was because he believed that true leadership remains a service to humanity, hence any leader must be humble, sensitive, God fearing, selfless and hardworking always.
