Meet the Sultan of Brunei, once the richest man on earth, owns thousands of exotic cars, 1,788-rooms palace
Whose wealth meets taste and elegance

Meet the Sultan of Brunei, the man that owns thousands of exotic cars, including Rolls-Royces, Lamborghini and a fleet of other beauties.
His “palacious” palace, Istana Nurul Iman, is the largest residential palace in the world, and has 1,788 rooms.
Palacious palace
At 2.1 million square feet, it features:
- 1,788 rooms
- 257 bathrooms
- 5 swimming pools
- 44 marble staircases
- 51,000 light bulbs (in 564 chandeliers)
Meanwhile, the entire structure is decorated in 22-karat gold.
Car collection
His car collection is mind-blowing:
• Fleet of Rolls-Royces
• Stream of Ferraris
• scores of Bentleys, etc.

Sultan of Brunei’s cars
Many are custom-made exclusively for him.
He even commissioned Bentley to build him the world’s first luxury SUV before they were popular.
His private jet?
A custom Boeing 747 with:
• Crystal chandeliers
• Private bedroom suite
• Solid gold washbasins
• Pure gold-plated furniture
It’s basically a flying palace.
For his 50th birthday, he flew in Michael Jackson for a private performance at the cost of $17 million.
He also flew in three thousand guests and had a polo match with King Charles.
Total cost for one night? $27 million.
Haircuts
Even his haircuts are extreme.
He pays $20,000 to fly his personal barber from London to Brunei on a private jet. Just for a trim!
Private zoo
His most insane purchase is a private zoo, which is home to about 30 Bengal tigers.
The zoo has birds that are trained to play basketball and ride bicycles for his entertainment.
How did he afford all this? Simple: Oil.
Brunei’s oil reserves made him the world’s richest man in the 1980s.
That was before Bill Gates took his place…
And currently has a net worth of about $30 billion.
