Mrs Miriam Ugochi Emenike working with Echoes of God’s Mercy & Grace Mission Specialist Hospital in Umuahia has been charged to Court for allegedly parading a fake medical certificate from Imo State University Owerri.

Investigation revealed that Miriam Ugochi Emenike had been posing as a Gynecologist not knowing she is an Impostor without a legitimate medical qualification.

She was accused of administering drugs that led to miscarriage and untimely deaths of patients.

This information was contained in a Press release of Monday 25th February 2025 by Prince Uwalaka Chimaraoke, a Media Consultant and SA to Governor Hope Uzodinma.

The statement read: “Miriam Ugochi Emenike, who had been posing as a Gynecologist at Echoes of God’s Mercy & Grace Mission Specialist Hospital in Umuahia, Abia State, has been exposed as an impostor after investigations confirmed she lacked legitimate medical qualifications.

Emenike secured employment at the hospital in 2023 using a falsified medical degree from Imo State University (IMSU).

Despite initial concerns from the hospital’s administrative team about the authenticity of her credentials, the hospital’s CEO proceeded with her employment and later promoted her to Chief Medical Director (CMD).

Her incompetence soon led to tragic consequences.

In September 2023, she administered incorrect medications that resulted in a miscarriage for one patient and the death of another.

Alarmed by these incidents, medical professionals at the hospital demanded a thorough review of her qualifications.

Upon being confronted, Emenike failed to present a valid medical license.

However, rather than being dismissed, she was controversially promoted to CMD, raising serious concerns about the hospital’s management.

This decision led to a mass resignation of doctors, who, in a formal protest letter, called for an independent verification of all medical staff.

They warned that allowing an unqualified individual to lead a hospital not only endangered lives but also placed licensed professionals at legal risk.

Following a petition by concerned medical practitioners, the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) launched an investigation, revealing shocking findings:

Emenike’s name was absent from the official registry of licensed medical practitioners.

The folio number she used for employment belonged to another doctor, proving she had fraudulently assumed a false medical identity.

In response, Emenike has been charged with forgery, impersonation, and employment under false pretenses.

Her case is currently before the Federal High Court in Abuja, where medical professionals and witnesses are set to testify against her.”
