Miss Anambra Emerges Miss Universe Nigeria 2025

Onyinyechi Basil, proudly representing Anambra State, has been crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2025, following a dazzling finale held in Lagos on Saturday, August 30, 2025.

The competition, which featured 22 contestants from across Nigeria, showcased not only beauty and elegance but also culture, creativity, and resilience.

Basil emerged victorious after a tense showdown with Miss Lagos, Damilola Bolarinde, who finished as the first runner-up.

Miss Bayelsa, Fortune Kurobo, secured the second runner-up spot, while Miss Ogun, Irene Ikediashi, came in third runner-up.

Completing the top five was Miss Akwa Ibom, Idah Eno, who also received the prestigious title of Miss Supranational Nigeria 2025, earning the opportunity to represent the country on another international stage.

Other remarkable finalists included Miss Delta, De-Blessing Asaboro; Miss Ekiti, Ezekiel Silver; Miss Imo, Chukwukereobi Chinaza; Miss Ebonyi, Ugoaru Onuoha; and Miss Oyo, Lagoke Funmike. Despite strong performances, they did not make it into the top five.

The finale was a colorful celebration of Nigeria’s rich heritage and contemporary style.

The traditional attire round saw contestants blend indigenous fabrics with modern fashion designs, receiving loud ovations from the audience.

In the swimwear round, the women displayed bold confidence and inclusivity, highlighting themes of body positivity.

The night’s entertainment opened with vibrant dance performances that energized the crowd and set the tone for a spectacular evening.

According to official voting data released by the Miss Universe Nigeria franchise, Miss Delta, De-Blessing Asaboro, led the polls with 38,319 votes.

She was closely followed by Miss Lagos, Damilola Bolarinde, with 34,033 votes, while Miss Ekiti, Ezekiel Silver, gathered 28,074 votes.

The statistics reflect the intense public interest and participation in this year’s contest.

The event, hosted by Anthony Abraham and Victory Wilson, attracted an impressive turnout of guests and generated massive buzz across social media platforms, where fans passionately debated and rooted for their favorite contestants.
