PORT HARCOURT – Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has expressed his commitment to working closely with the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Senator Bala Mohammed, to guide the party in the right direction.

Diaspora digital media (DDM) gathered that this statement was made during his condolence visit to Governor Mohammed in Bauchi, where he came to offer his sympathy on the death of Mohammed’s stepmother, Hajia Hauwa Mohammed.

Governor Fubara emphasized the strong working relationship between Rivers and Bauchi states under Governor Mohammed’s leadership.

He highlighted their shared commitment to repositioning the PDP, acknowledging the challenges ahead but stressing the importance of decisiveness in ensuring progress.

“It is time to take strong positions for the right changes to be made,” Fubara stated.

While offering his condolences, Governor Fubara recognized the deep personal loss felt by Governor Mohammed, stressing that losing a close family member, regardless of their age, is always a tragedy.

He also expressed sympathy for the void left by the passing of Hajia Hauwa, particularly because of the close bond she had with Governor Mohammed.

Fubara noted that such a loss could only be truly filled by divine comfort.

“Only Allah can provide the lasting peace and solace needed during this time,” he said, praying for the deceased’s soul to rest in peace.

Responding, Governor Mohammed thanked Fubara for the condolence visit, describing it as a demonstration of the bond between them.

He appreciated the support Rivers State had always provided to Bauchi, calling Governor Fubara a “Good SIM for Rivers and Nigeria.”

He reiterated that the governors would remain united, only diverging when necessary to clarify positions within the party.
