Mrs. Obiano Donates Free Health Insurance Cards To Sickle Cell Patients

Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano, the wife of the former Anambra State governor, Mr. Williams Obiano, has donated free Health Insurance Cards to All Persons Living with Sickle Cell Disorder (APLSCD) in Anambra State.

Mrs. Obiano also promised to renew all cards every year, besides donating other palliatives, including provisions and drugs.

APLSCD National Coordinator and Director of Sickle Cell Orphanage and Underprivileged Home, Agulu, Anambra State, Mrs. Aisha Edwards Maduagwu, announced this on Thursday.

In a brief statement, Mrs. Maduagwu admonished all sickle cell patients to come to the Sickle Cell Orphanage and Underprivileged Home on Saturday, September 6, 2025, to collect their copies of the cards.

Maduagwu wrote: “All Persons Living with Sickle Cell Disorder should come to the Sickle Cell Orphanage and Underprivileged Home, Agulu, opposite UBA Bank, Nwagu Agulu, on the 6th of September 2025 to collect their free Anambra State Health Insurance Cards procured by one of our kind donors who promised to renew all cards every year.

“Onitsha Zone, Awka Zone, Aguata Zone and Nnewi Zone please take note.

“Your transport fare would be given to you, and other palliatives and drugs would be shared too.”

She also urged APLSCD patients to come along with their passport photographs, National Identification Number (NIN) and the name of your choice hospital nearest to them.

Maduagwu further encouraged all prospective donors of drugs like antibiotics, anti-malaria, anti-ulcers and analgesics to freely “meet these patients in person and talk about the efficacy of their products”.

The time for the collection is 8 AM prompt.
