Nigerian Air Force (NAF), on November 23, 2024, carried out a number of airstrikes in the Jubillaram, Tumbuns region of Lake Chad Basin.

According to the NAF’s director of public relations and information, Olusola Akinboyewa, the strikes were strategic.

Akinboyewa stated that the missiles were fired on a location used as a terrorist hideout and food storage facility.

He further disclosed that they were connected to recent assaults, such as the Kareto military assault.

“Mop-up operations using cannons ensured the complete elimination of fleeing hostile elements”, he said.

NAF’s director of information and public relations said a number of terrorists were eliminated, and their facilities for storing food were demolished.

“The operation’s success was made possible by extensive Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions conducted over several days, confirming the presence of active terrorist structures camouflaged under dense vegetation.

“The destruction of the terrorist enclave, including food storage facilities, severely disrupted their logistical operations, while the neutralisation of a significant number of fighters diminished their capacity to launch future attacks”, he added.

Akinboyewa added that the mission showed NAF’s commitment to protecting national security and assisting ground forces.

He repeatedly emphasized the NAF’s dedication to sustaining aggressive air campaigns, both independently and in collaboration with allies, in an effort to bring those responsible for threatening Nigeria’s stability accountable.
