Netanyahu Says Israel Yet To Finish Job Against Hezbollah

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said Israel has not yet completed its military objectives against Hezbollah, despite a recently announced ceasefire with Lebanon.

Speaking on Friday, Netanyahu stated that while the Iran-backed group had been significantly weakened, further action was still required to eliminate remaining threats.

“Today’s Hezbollah is a shadow of its former self compared to the heyday of Hassan Nasrallah,” he said, referring to the group’s former leader.

However, the prime minister stressed that Israel’s mission was ongoing. “We haven’t yet finished the job.

There are things we plan to do to address the remaining rocket threat and the drone threat,” he added.

His remarks came just hours after a 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon took effect, raising questions about the durability of the truce.

Netanyahu also reiterated that dismantling Hezbollah remains a key objective, though he acknowledged it would take time and sustained effort.

According to him, Israeli operations have already neutralised major threats, including the risk of large-scale militant infiltration and the stockpile of tens of thousands of rockets capable of targeting Israeli cities.

The statement underscores lingering tensions in the region, even as diplomatic efforts continue to push for a broader and more lasting peace agreement.
