Nigerians Rally Behind Woman Again After ₦2m Donation — Now She’s Asking for More

A Nigerian woman who previously received widespread support from Nigerians after her pregnancy struggles has returned online, asking for help again.

Mrs Motunrayo first went viral in August 2025 after a content creator reportedly found her walking under the sun while heavily pregnant and offered financial assistance. The video attracted public attention, prompting Nigerians to contribute towards her welfare.

Following the donations, the content creator reportedly secured a furnished two-bedroom apartment for her family in Abuja and paid two years’ rent. Mrs Motunrayo also received about ₦2 million, which was intended to help her start a business and support her family.

However, she has now returned to social media explaining that life around the new apartment has become financially difficult.

According to her, the cost of living in the area is high, while her children’s school fees reportedly consumed more than ₦1 million because they enrolled them in a nearby school.

She also expressed concern about what will happen when the two-year rent arrangement expires, saying she is unsure whether she and her husband will be able to afford the cost themselves.

Mrs Motunrayo is now appealing to Nigerians for assistance to open a shop so she can establish a source of income for her family. She is also considering renting out the apartment as another way to generate money.

Her latest appeal has, however, divided social media users. Some Nigerians believe she deserves another opportunity to become financially independent, while others have accused her of failing to properly manage the support she previously received.

The debate has left many asking a bigger question:
