Nigeria’s fraud bursting agency arrest Sherman, 48 suspects during raid

Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, arrested an unlikeliest suspect in sweeping raid of alleged fraudsters in Lokoja.

An alleged Sherman, believed to fortify the suspects was picked along with 48 other suspects in a sweeping arrests over obtaining money over false pretenses.

The were some curious items believed to be charms found in possession of the suspects.The zonal command of the commission in Ilorin, Kwara State,  whose purview extended to Lokoja another state capital in Kogi carried out the raid suspected internet fraudsters where arrested.

As alleged by the commission, the suspect, with internet, obtain money  under false pretence from unsuspecting members of the public within and outside Nigeria.

It is not yet clear what role the sherman, called ‘herbalist’ in Nigeria played in the illegal operation.

According to Dele Oyewale, spokesman for EFCC, incriminating items and curios where picked up by the agency as evidence during the raid.

Items recovered from them include 10 exotic cars, two motorcycles, 11 laptops, 83 mobile phones and charms.

“The suspects, all male, between the ages of 17 -34 will be arraigned in court upon conclusion of investigations,”  Oyewale said.
