Notorious anti-Liverpool FC ref, Coote, sacked

The Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) has terminated the employment of Premier League referee David Coote, effective immediately.
This decision comes after a thorough investigation into Coote’s conduct, which was found to be in serious breach of his employment contract.
The investigation was sparked by a leaked video that surfaced last month.
In the video, Coote used offensive language and making derogatory comments about the Merseyside club and its former manager Jurgen Klopp.
Coote was subsequently suspended, and the PGMOL has now decided to take the drastic step of terminating his employment.
According to the PGMOL, Coote’s actions were deemed “untenable,” and the organization remains committed to supporting him despite the termination of his employment.
Coote has the right to appeal the decision.
This development marks the end of Coote’s refereeing career in the Premier League.
He had officiated in several high-profile matches, including the Liverpool vs. Burnley match in July 2020, which sparked controversy after Klopp criticized Coote’s performance.
Coote is also facing UEFA disciplinary proceedings over a separate incident involving a video that appeared to show him snorting a white powder during Euro 2024.
Additionally, the Football Association is investigating allegations that Coote discussed betting with a fan before a match in the Championship.
