“Once a Woman Starts Cheating, She Has Checked Out” — Yul Edochie

Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has sparked fresh debate online after sharing his opinion on relationships, cheating, and marital loyalty, using the ongoing discussion around broadcaster Frank Edoho and his ex-wife as a reference point.

In a strongly worded statement, the actor claimed that many men remain in relationships where they are no longer truly loved, describing such situations as “wasting time.” He went on to suggest that once a woman becomes unfaithful, it often signals an emotional exit from the marriage.

“Once a woman begins to cheat, she has checked out already,” he said. “Her brains and emotions are out of the marriage already.”

He further argued that in such situations, the relationship is already broken emotionally, and often beyond repair. According to him, this is why some men later encounter situations where private voice notes or conversations reveal disrespect or mocking attitudes toward their partners.

His comments have since generated mixed reactions on social media. While some users agreed with his perspective on emotional detachment in relationships, others criticized the generalization, arguing that infidelity and marital breakdowns are complex issues that affect both men and women differently.
