Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has met with leaders of the Obi-Kwankwaso (OK) Movement in what supporters described as a strategic engagement aimed at promoting national unity and strengthening a people-focused political agenda.
The meeting was disclosed by Ladipo Johnson, a chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and a member of the Obi-Kwankwaso Movement.

According to Johnson, the discussions centred on the future of Nigeria and the movement’s vision of building a more inclusive and prosperous nation.
In a statement issued after the meeting, he said the engagement provided an opportunity for the movement to tap into Obasanjo’s wealth of experience in governance and nation-building.

“The OK Movement today held a powerful and strategic meeting with former President Olusegun Obasanjo, reaffirming our shared commitment to a stronger, more united and progressive Nigeria,” Johnson said.
He noted that the former president shared valuable insights from his years in public service, adding that the interaction would further strengthen the movement’s resolve to pursue policies focused on the welfare of ordinary Nigerians.
According to him, the discussions reinforced the movement’s commitment to building a political platform that prioritises national development, inclusiveness and good governance.
“The wisdom, experience and leadership perspectives shared during the meeting will further energise our efforts to build a movement that is people-centred, forward-looking and dedicated to advancing the Nigerian cause,” he added.
Johnson said the movement would continue mobilising supporters across the country towards what he described as a new vision of unity, growth and shared prosperity.
He also reiterated the group’s belief that Nigeria can overcome its challenges through collective action and purposeful leadership.
“The movement remains committed to empowering citizens, promoting inclusive development and advancing policies that will improve the lives of Nigerians. Nigeria will be OK,” he said.
The meeting comes at a time of increasing consultations and political manoeuvring ahead of the 2027 elections, with opposition figures and key stakeholders exploring possible alliances and strategies for the future.
Although details of the discussions were not made public, the meeting highlights growing engagement between the Obi-Kwankwaso Movement and influential political figures as conversations around Nigeria’s political future continue to gather momentum.
