Police arrests groom, three friends after bride died in marathon sex

Police in Jigawa State on Sunday April 27, 2025, arrested a 20-year-old groom and three friends over the death of his wife.
The police alleged that the suspects coerced the bride into non-consensual sexual activity, leading to her death.
The spokesman of the command, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed the incident in a statement on Sunday.
According to him, the tragic event occurred on April 26, 2025, around 10:00 p.m., at Tungo village in Albasu District.

A preliminary investigation showed the bride had earlier disagreed with her husband on marital relations before the wedding.
The spokesman said a police team rushed to the scene immediately after receiving the distress report.
The officers evacuated the woman’s body to Gumel General Hospital for an urgent medical examination.
A doctor on duty at the hospital confirmed the death of the young bride after initial checks.
