Police Nab Robbery Suspects High On ‘Mpuru-Mmiri’, Recovers Pistols

Chekwube Nwobodo, 27, and Ifeanyi Edeh, 30, both men, and suspects of armed robbery, are currently guests of the Nigerian Police in Enugu after being arrested on January 3rd, 2024, at about 2.40 p.m.

The gentleman of the highway, according to police sources where high on Meth, colloquially called Mpuru-Mmiri, some of which were found on them as exhibit, apart from two locally fabricated pistols.

Disclosing this, Enugu State police command, said that the two armed robbery suspects were picked up while in stupour, probably from the drugs.

PPRO, Enugu Police Command, DSP Daniel Ndukwe saying said the suspects were arrested operatives of Nkanu East Police Division.

According to Ndukwe, the arrest of the suspects, whose other gang members escaped but are being hunted, led to the recovery of one locally fabricated pistol with two live cartridges, pieces of substance suspected to be crystal meth (otherwise known as Mpkuru-Mmiri), and a quantity of weed suspected to be marijuana.
