Lagos, Nigeria — A Christian prayer programme has urged believers to seek holistic prosperity, stressing that true wellbeing should encompass spiritual growth, physical health and material success.
The message, delivered on Monday, August 10, 2026, as Day 87 of the programme, was themed, “The Lord Will Give You Enduring Prosperity,” with biblical references drawn from 3 John 1:2, Deuteronomy 28:12-13, Isaiah 66:12 and Psalm 35:27.
The programme described prosperity as part of God’s desire for His people, encouraging participants to pray not only for financial improvement but also for good health and spiritual wellbeing.
According to the teaching, prosperity should not be viewed solely in monetary terms, as good health and spiritual development are equally important aspects of a fulfilling life. It noted that wealth could be difficult to enjoy when an individual is battling illness, while poor health could also limit a person’s ability to work and pursue economic opportunities.
Participants were therefore encouraged to pray for material prosperity while also seeking good health and spiritual strength. The message emphasised that a prosperous soul was essential to maintaining a balanced and meaningful life.
The teaching referenced biblical figures including Abraham and Isaac as examples of individuals who experienced significant prosperity. It cited the account of Isaac in Genesis 26:12-14, noting that he prospered despite difficult economic conditions and continued to receive blessings until he became remarkably successful.
The programme also highlighted the biblical account of Jabez in 1 Chronicles 4:10. According to the teaching, Jabez faced difficult circumstances and appealed to God to remove his pain, enlarge his territory and bless his life. His prayer, the message noted, was answered, resulting in greater honour and prosperity.
The programme further drew attention to Psalm 35:27, which presents God as one who takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servant. The passage was used to encourage participants to remain hopeful and prayerful concerning their personal circumstances.
As part of the message, participants were assured that divine intervention could bring healing, deliverance, new opportunities and positive changes into their lives. The programme encouraged believers to trust God for breakthroughs while continuing to pursue spiritual growth and responsible efforts towards their goals.
The prayer session included specific petitions for abundant prosperity, the ability to create wealth and sudden positive changes in participants’ financial circumstances.
One of the prayers asked God to grant participants prosperity so extensive that it would be difficult to quantify. Another called for divine empowerment to create wealth, while a third sought immediate financial transformation.
Participants were also urged to pray for the Spiritual Director of Zion Prayer Movement Outreach, Evang. Chukwuebuka Anozie Obi, and the continued progress of the ministry.
The programme concluded with a message of hope, encouraging believers to expect positive changes in their lives while emphasising the importance of prosperity that extends beyond material wealth to include health, spiritual wellbeing, peace and overall fulfilment.
