Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has etched his name further into the Premier League history books following his standout performance on Sunday.

Diaspora digital media (DDM) the Egyptian international set a new record for the most goal contributions in a 38-game Premier League season, surpassing football legends Thierry Henry and Erling Haaland.

Salah reached the milestone during Liverpool’s 2-1 victory over West Ham United at Anfield.

In the first half of the match, Salah provided a brilliant trivela assist for Colombian winger Luis Díaz, who found the net with a clinical finish.

That assist marked Salah’s 18th of the ongoing Premier League campaign—currently the highest number of assists registered by any player this season.

In addition to his assists, Salah has also scored 27 goals in the 2024/25 Premier League season.

This brings his total goal involvement to 45, setting a new benchmark for a 38-game season.

The previous record was held by Arsenal icon Thierry Henry, who managed 44 goal contributions in the 2002–03 season.

That record stood unchallenged for two decades until Manchester City striker Erling Haaland matched it in the 2022–23 season, scoring 36 goals and providing 8 assists in his debut English top-flight campaign.

Salah’s current form not only breaks this long-standing record but also opens the door to potentially becoming the first player to register over 50 goal contributions in a single Premier League season.

With several matches still to be played, the Egyptian is on track to raise the bar even further.

Since arriving at Liverpool in 2017 from AS Roma, Salah has consistently been one of the Premier League’s most prolific attackers.

He won the Golden Boot in his debut season, scoring 32 goals in the 2017–18 campaign, which at the time was the highest total in a 38-game Premier League season.

That record was later surpassed by Haaland in the 2022–23 season.

Salah has played a crucial role in Liverpool’s success under manager Jürgen Klopp, helping the club win the UEFA Champions League in 2019 and their first Premier League title in 30 years in 2020.

His consistency in front of goal, versatility, and ability to create chances has made him one of the most dangerous forwards in European football.

This latest milestone adds to Salah’s growing legacy, placing him in elite company alongside the likes of Henry and Haaland.

Unlike Haaland, who achieved his record in his first season in England, Salah has maintained top-level performance over multiple seasons.

Many fans and analysts believe this consistency enhances the significance of his achievement.

As Liverpool continues its chase for the league title and other silverware, Salah’s form could prove vital in the closing stages of the season.

Should he continue at this pace, the 50-goal contribution mark may soon be within reach, further solidifying his place as one of the greatest players in Premier League history.

His performance against West Ham not only secured three crucial points for Liverpool but also reminded the football world of his enduring brilliance and hunger for greatness.

Salah’s latest record-breaking feat will surely fuel debates about his standing among the Premier League’s all-time greats.

With his name now above legends like Henry and Haaland in this category, the conversation around his legacy is more relevant than ever.
