Popular US singer and actress Selena Gomez has responded to a call for her deportation after she expressed her emotional reaction to President Trump’s ICE raids.

According to Diaspora digital media (DDM), the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), along with other agencies, conducted nationwide raids on Sunday.

By Monday, ICE reported that over 1,100 illegal immigrants had been apprehended across the country.

Selena Gomez, known for her advocacy on social issues, shared a now-deleted video on her Instagram, where she expressed her sorrow for the people affected by the raids.

In the emotional video, the 32-year-old, who has Mexican heritage, became tearful as she spoke about the deportation of Mexicans.

While wiping away tears, Selena said, “I’m so sorry. All my people are getting attacked.

“The children, I don’t understand.

“I wish I could do something. I will try everything, I promise.”

Her video quickly garnered attention, but it also led to backlash from some, including a former US Senate candidate, Sam Parker.

Parker, who was not pleased with Gomez’s emotional plea, took to social media to call for the deportation of the singer.

He wrote, “Deport Selena Gomez. She picked illegals over America because she’s the 3rd-generation descendant of Mexican illegals who received citizenship in the ’87 Amnesty.”

Parker further criticized Selena’s stance, claiming she displayed an “entitlement attitude” toward the United States, similar to her parents, who had received amnesty during the 1980s.

He even suggested that since Gomez had spoken out in favor of undocumented immigrants, she should be deported herself.

In response to the call for her deportation, Selena Gomez shared a defiant post on her Instagram story.

She wrote, “Oh Mr. Parker, Mr. Parker. Thanks for the laugh and the threat,” showing that she was not taking the criticism seriously.

Selena’s response quickly went viral, with many fans defending her and expressing their support for her stance on immigration.

Her comments about the deportation of Mexicans resonated with many, as the singer has long been vocal about issues affecting immigrant communities in the United States.

Despite the backlash from some quarters, Selena Gomez has continued to use her platform to advocate for immigrant rights.

Her message of compassion and empathy for the children and families affected by the ICE raids has sparked important conversations about the ongoing immigration debate in the US.

The call for her deportation, however, has not deterred her from speaking out about what she believes is an unjust treatment of immigrant communities.

In fact, Selena’s emotional reaction to the raids has only fueled further discussions about the human impact of the government’s immigration policies.

While some critics, like Sam Parker, have called for her to leave the country, the public’s response has largely been in favor of her right to express her views.

Selena Gomez’s actions reflect a broader trend among public figures who have taken a stand against the harsh immigration policies of the current administration.

Her support for those affected by the raids shows a commitment to social justice and advocacy for immigrant families, something that has become central to her public persona.

As the debate around immigration continues, Selena’s voice remains a powerful one in advocating for a more compassionate approach to immigration issues.

The continued public discussions around her stance on immigration reflect the broader societal challenges facing the US today.

Whether or not the calls for her deportation gain traction, Selena remains steadfast in her mission to advocate for the rights and well-being of immigrants.
