Senate on Tuesday set-up Adhoc Committee to investigate alleged leakages, non Remittance and misuse of generated revenue by government agencies.
Among the agencies expected to appear before the Committee on alleged misuse of generated income are Nigerian Port Authority (NPA), Nigerian Custom Service (NCS), Federal inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Joint Admision Matriculation Board (JAMB), National Examination Council (NECO).
The decision of the Senate was sequel to a motion sponsored by Senator Solomon Adeola who noted that section 80, subsection 1-4 of the 1999 constitution (as amended) clearly stipulated that all revenue, moneys raised or received shall be paid and form on consolidated Revenue Fund of the Federation.
