Sex Scandal: Legal practitioner, Ude calls for Akpabio’s resignation

An Abuja – based Legal Practitioner, Charles Ude Esq has called on the Nigeria Senate President, Godswill Akpabio to resign for alleged sexual harassment on female senator, Natasha Akpoti – Uduaghan.

He said the allegation of misconduct and unethical behavior have tarnished the reputation of the Nigeria Senate.

Charles Ude stated this in a statement of 2nd March, 2025 which he released to the Public.

It states: “The recent scandal surrounding Senator Natasha Akpaoti has brought to the forefront the urgent need for the Senate President to resign.

The allegations of misconduct and unethical behavior have not only tarnished the reputation of the Senator but also cast a dark shadow on the entire Senate.

The Senate, as an institution, is expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability.

However, the current leadership has failed to demonstrate these values, leading to a crisis of confidence among the Nigerian people.

SCANDALS AND RESIGNATIONS: Precedents in Nigeria and Beyond

There are precedents in Nigeria and other countries where public officers have resigned due to scandals.

For instance, Adolphus Wabara, a former Senate President, resigned in 2005 due to allegations of bribery and corruption
