Update on Gaza war
The Gaza war has taken a devastating turn.
On March 18, 2025, Israel launched surprise airstrikes on Gaza, killing over 400 Palestinians, including 263 women and children, making it one of the deadliest attacks in the Gaza war.
The strikes were part of Operation Might and Sword, a military campaign aimed at targeting Hamas militants, such as Shabat.
According to reports, the continuing airstrikes have killed entire families, and many more injured.
The Gaza Health Ministry has reported that the death toll has risen to 591, with over 1,000 injured.
The Israeli military has also initiated a ground operation in central Gaza, aiming to expand a buffer zone and retake the Netzarim Corridor.
On their part, Hamas has responded to the airstrikes by firing rockets at Tel Aviv and has vowed to continue fighting against Israel.
The international community has condemned the violence.
The United Nations Security Council recently held an emergency meeting to address the crisis.
The conflict has also led to a humanitarian crisis, with Israel blocking aid from entering Gaza, including food, water, and medical supplies.
The blockade has been condemned by human rights groups and the international community.
The situation remains dire, with no end to the violence in sight.
