In a significant boost to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State, 107 active voters from Ibeno Local Government Area defected to the party on December 31, 2024.

The defection ceremony took place during a Christmas/New Year party hosted by Dr. Eunice Thomas, Non-Executive Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).

The defectors cited Dr. Thomas’s humane, sincere, and honest approach to relationships and her contributions to the party’s growth as key factors influencing their decision.

Hon. Aboh Uduyok, Akwa Ibom State Organizing Secretary of the APC, was present to receive the new members.

About APC…

The party was formed in 2013 through the merger of several opposition parties, including the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), and the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP).

APC has produced several prominent Nigerian politicians, including President Muhammadu Buhari, who served as President of Nigeria from 2015 to 2023, and incumbent President Bola Tinubu.

The APC’s ideology is centered around progressive values, including good governance, economic development, and social justice.

The party has also won several elections at the federal, state, and local levels.
