Michael Orabiyi, popularly known as Scribz Riley, has shared an emotional tribute following the tragic death of his brother, British-Nigerian singer Talay Riley.
Talay Riley, whose real name was Yinka Orabiyi, was reportedly stabbed to death in Silvertown, London, on June 5, 2026.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Scribz revealed that he had spoken with his brother shortly before his death, recalling that their conversation focused on hope, the future, and the goals they still planned to achieve.
“Just before he went to sleep, we spoke about the future, staying positive and about everything we still had left to do. I never imagined that would be our last conversation,” he wrote.
Describing the depth of their relationship, Scribz said Talay was far more than a brother, calling him a mentor, a friend, and a source of inspiration.
“Yinka wasn’t just my brother. He was my mother’s son, a friend to many, a mentor, an inspiration, and a light in so many people’s lives,” he added.
He also praised the late singer’s character, noting his kindness and generosity, and the impact he had on those around him.
According to him, Talay’s legacy will live on through his music, relationships, and the lives he touched.
Born into a Nigerian family in London, Talay Riley developed a passion for music at an early age. He began singing at just five years old and later gained recognition after featuring on Chipmunk’s 2009 hit single “Look for Me,” which charted in the United Kingdom.
As tributes continue to pour in from fans and colleagues, Scribz concluded his message with an emotional farewell.
“Even with everything you accomplished, this was far too soon. I love you, brother. Thank you for everything. Rest in paradise, Yinka.”
