Former Sokoto State Governor and Senator representing Sokoto South, Aminu Tambuwal, has sued the Sokoto State Government over its alleged failure to release the report of a judicial commission that investigated his administration.
The commission was set up to investigate the affairs of Tambuwal’s administration between 2015 and 2023.
Tambuwal, through his counsel, U.O. Sule, SAN, filed the suit, marked SS/133/2026, before Justice Mohammed Mohammed of the Sokoto State High Court 6.
The defendants are Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, and the Sokoto State Commission of Inquiry.
The suit followed the alleged refusal or failure of the state government and the commission to provide Tambuwal with a copy of the report after the commission concluded its proceedings.
Tambuwal is seeking legal redress over the withholding of the report and the circumstances surrounding its non-release.
