Tinubu Names Abuja Expressway After Late Literary Icon, Chinua Achebe
In a move to recognize and celebrate Nigeria’s rich literary heritage, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has named the M18 road infrastructure in Guzape District, Abuja, after the renowned novelist and poet, Professor Chinua Achebe.
The announcement was made during the president’s address at the inauguration of the road on Saturday, June 8.
According to a post by Olusegun Dada, Special Assistant to President Tinubu on Social Media, the president formally commissioned the M18 road infrastructure and honored Achebe’s legacy by naming the road after him.
This gesture is seen as a significant recognition of Achebe’s contributions to Nigerian literature and his impact on the global literary scene.
Achebe is best known for his iconic novel, “Things Fall Apart,” which has become a classic of modern African literature.
President Tinubu’s decision to name the road after Achebe is a testament to the author’s enduring legacy and his influence on Nigerian culture.
