Leadership crisis has erupted within the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), creating divisions among governors of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
While Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma has reiterated that he remains the chairman of the forum, working alongside Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani as deputy chairman.
Earlier today, it was reported in some section of the media that Hope Uzodinma has been removed as the chairman of PGF.
A rival camp has reportedly sprang up within the forum, rallying behind Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who are said to be coordinating the affairs of another faction.
The acrimony shows a widening cracks among APC governors as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections begin to gather momentum.
Though, the exact cause of the political bad blood has not been officially revealed, but party insiders said disagreements over leadership influence and political strategy had created growing tension within the forum.
The division is expected to reshape political alignments within the ruling party, given the strategic role governors play in determining the APC’s internal power structure.
