United States President Donald Trump has announced that he will not attend the wedding of his son, Donald Trump Jr., saying government responsibilities and national duties will keep him away from the event.

Trump made the announcement in a post shared on his Truth platform on Friday, explaining that despite his desire to be present, the demands of leadership would prevent him from attending the ceremony between Donald Trump Jr. and his fiancée, Bettina Anderson.

“While I very much wanted to be with my son, Don Jr., and the newest member of the Trump Family, his soon-to-be wife, Bettina, circumstances pertaining to Government, and my love for the United States of America, do not allow me to do so,” Trump wrote.

The president described the current moment as an important period for the country, stressing that affairs of state required his continued attention and presence at the White House.

Although he confirmed his absence, Trump extended warm wishes to the couple and congratulated them ahead of their wedding.

His decision has already sparked conversations online, with supporters describing it as a demonstration of commitment to public service, while others questioned the balance between family and political obligations.

The wedding of Donald Trump Jr. and Bettina Anderson is expected to attract significant public and media attention given the prominence of the Trump family in American political and social circles.
