Nigeria’s National U-17 Women’s team, the Flamingos, Saturday defeated Namibia 4-0 in a second round, first leg  2016 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifier at the Abuja National Stadium.

Two goals from Rasheedat Ajibade and one each from Cynthia Aku and Peace Efih saw the Flamingos secure a comfortable lead in their second round, first leg clash.

The match was part of the qualification series for the 2016 FIFA Women’s U17 World Cup ahead of the return leg fixture at the Sam Nujoma Stadium in Windhoek, in a forth night.

Captain of the team Rasheedat Ajibade opened scoring in the 13th minute, later on Aku Cynthia doubled Nigeria’s lead in the 36th minute with a fine finish before Efih Peace scored from 34 yards, Ajibade got her brace in the 67th minute to complete the rout.

With the 4-0 first leg advantage, the Flamingos are expected to pull through even as they go for the second leg encounter on 22nd January in Windhoek.

The winner on aggregate face either Zambia or South Africa in the third and final round of the qualifying series.
