A video from Ajeme (pronunciation/spelling not clear), a largely Nigerian community in Abidjan, shows an ongoing scramble by mostly Nigerians to get ticket to watch Thursday African Cup of Nations, AFCON, match between Nigeria and Cote d’Ivoir, a scenario forcing groans of frustration from Coach Bola Mogaji, excecutive chairman, Kwara Sports Commission, KFC.
He is joined in the video by director of sports, DOS, Ibrahim Bako, whose deep frown says all there is to say on what he feels about the situation.
“We are here struggling to get ticket to watch the Super Eagles.
“The ticket here is being sold for CFA6,000 [N12, 000 Nigerian currency] .
“We are still struggling to buy the ticket because of our love for the country.
“As soon as we get the ticket we move to the stadium, he said in the video.
He pans the camera to sweep up scene of confused scrambling by people, mostly in Nigerian jerseys angling to buy the match tickets.
The Super Eagles faces host nation of the 2023 AFCON in a group decider later today.
