Nigeria's President Bola Tinubu

*Viewer’s Discretion Advised* See what Fulani did in Bokkus LGA, Plateau State in the early hours of Christmas Day 25th December, 2023. They were bold enough to video the massacre.

This was part of how Nigerian christians in the state state celebreated Christmas on the Plateau, it was indeed a black Christmas.

In a statemement released this morning, President Bola Tinubu condemned the “heinous and brutal attacks” in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi Local Government Areas of Plateau State, and directed security agencies to immediately move in, scour every stretch of the zone, and apprehend the culprits.

The Nigerian President also directed immediate mobilization of relief resources for surviving victims of the primitive and cruel attacks as well as medical treatment for the wounded.

While condoling with the government and the people of Plateau State, President Tinubu assures Nigerians that these envoys of death, pain, and sorrow will not escape justice.

More than 106 villages were reported killed in the carnage that happened in Nigeria’s middle belt region.

Fulani extremism refers to violence by an ethnic group, the Fulani (also known as Fula or Fulɓe) against neighboring farmers of various ethnicities.

Nigeria is considered a “melting pot” of different cultural and ethnic groups. Ethnic identification in the country is a complicated amalgamation of primordial and constructivist approaches.

The Fulani are largely nomadic/semi-nomadic group of approximately 20 million individuals who live in the semi-arid climate of West Africa.

It is important of course to emphasize that not all Fulani are extremists – the extremists are a subset of this larger ethnic group.
