NASARAWA STATE — Aliyu Wadada, widely regarded as the preferred governorship aspirant of Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule, has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to embrace forgiveness and unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Wadada made the appeal while addressing party stakeholders, stressing the need to heal internal divisions and strengthen cohesion within the ruling party in the state.
He urged party members to prioritise collective success over personal grievances, noting that unity remains critical for electoral victory and effective governance.
According to him, unresolved disputes and lingering political tensions could weaken the APC’s chances if not properly addressed before the elections.
The governorship aspirant emphasised that the party must present a united front to maintain its dominance and political stability in Nasarawa State.
He also called for greater tolerance among party leaders and supporters, urging them to focus on shared goals rather than past disagreements.
Wadada’s remarks come amid early political positioning within the APC as aspirants begin consultations ahead of the 2027 governorship race.
Political observers note that succession politics in Nasarawa State has already begun shaping alliances and internal party discussions.
Governor Abdullahi Sule is currently serving his second term, and attention is gradually shifting toward identifying his potential successor within the party.
Analysts say Wadada’s appeal reflects efforts to reduce tension and consolidate support ahead of what is expected to be a competitive primary process.
Party insiders believe unity will be a decisive factor in determining the APC’s strength in the next electoral cycle.
The APC remains the dominant political force in Nasarawa State, but internal competition among aspirants is expected to intensify.
Wadada urged stakeholders to draw lessons from previous electoral cycles where internal divisions affected party performance in some constituencies.
He maintained that reconciliation and inclusiveness would help the party maintain voter confidence and grassroots support.
The call for unity is part of broader political consultations currently ongoing across different states as parties prepare for 2027.
As the political landscape continues to evolve, attention will remain on how the APC manages its internal dynamics in Nasarawa State.
