The Military High Command has labeled Bello Turji, a notorious terrorist commander, as “a dead man walking.”

According to reports, the Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, made the statement.

He emphasized that those questioning the military’s precision strikes against terrorist hideouts are merely spreading propaganda.

According to him, these operations have successfully targeted the Lakurawa terrorists, resulting in significant losses for their ranks.

As reported, the declaration follows Turji’s recent threats to attack communities in Zamfara State unless the military releases his brother and other captured associates.

General Buba reported that since January 2024, the military has eliminated over 1,000 terrorist leaders and their replacements.

He assured the public that Bello Turji and others like him would face a similar fate.

“Bello Turji is just a dead man walking,” he asserted.

He further stated that it would be futile to engage in dialogue with a terrorist, highlighting that many previous terrorists who made bold threats have already been neutralized.

The general confirmed that the military has buried numerous terrorists on the battlefield.

He reiterated that the remaining terrorists, including Turji, are effectively living on borrowed time.

In response to criticisms of the military’s Christmas Day bombing of the Lakurawa terrorist group, Buba remarked, “The first casualty of war is the truth.”

He indicated that it is not surprising for terrorists or their supporters to contradict the military’s accounts of events.

However, he urged the public to remain skeptical of any narratives that undermine the military’s operations.

The general expressed his frustration with the ongoing attempts to discredit the military’s efforts.

He said, “It is insulting to the military to work against their achievements.”

He called on citizens not to succumb to terrorist propaganda, emphasizing that the military’s actions are vital for national security.

Buba stated: “We will continue our operations until we secure peace in Nigeria.”
