KYIV, UKRAINE – President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has warned that Russia is preparing what he described as a “new massive strike” against Ukraine, amid escalating tensions and continued military attacks across multiple regions of the country.

The Ukrainian leader issued the warning during a national address, urging citizens to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions as the conflict with Russia continues to intensify.

Zelenskyy stated that Ukrainian intelligence and defence structures had identified indications of planned large-scale attacks, though specific targets and timelines were not fully disclosed in the public briefing.

The warning comes as Ukraine continues to face sustained aerial and ground assaults, with infrastructure, energy facilities, and civilian areas repeatedly affected by ongoing hostilities.

Authorities in Kyiv have stepped up emergency preparedness measures, including reinforcing air defence systems and urging regional administrations to maintain heightened alert levels.

President Zelenskyy called on international partners to increase military and humanitarian support, stressing that additional assistance is critical to defending civilian populations and maintaining national resilience.

He also encouraged Ukrainian citizens to strictly follow safety guidelines during air raid alerts and to make use of designated shelters when necessary.

Military analysts note that warnings of large-scale strikes have become more frequent as the war enters another phase of intensified operations, with both sides continuing to adjust their strategies on the battlefield.

The Ukrainian government has consistently accused Russia of targeting civilian infrastructure, while Russia maintains that its operations are directed at military objectives.

The latest warning is expected to heighten concerns among civilians already affected by prolonged conflict, displacement, and economic disruption caused by the war.

Emergency services in several Ukrainian regions have reportedly been placed on standby, with contingency plans activated to respond to potential strikes.

International observers say the situation underscores the continued volatility of the conflict and the difficulty of achieving near-term de-escalation despite ongoing diplomatic efforts.

Zelenskyy reaffirmed that Ukraine will continue to defend its territory and sovereignty, emphasizing national unity in the face of continued military pressure.

As tensions rise, global attention remains focused on developments in the region and the potential impact of any large-scale escalation on civilian populations and international security.
