Zionites answer the call to repentance for a transformative spiritual revival – Prophet Obi
DDM News

Lagos, January 22, 2025 – Zionites gathered on the third day of the Zion Prayer Movement Outreach’s 21-day foundational prayer program, answering the powerful call to repentance.
Diaspora digital media (DDM) gathered that the day’s theme, “A Call to Repentance,” deeply resonated with participants, urging them to reflect on their lives, abandon sin, and return to God.
Evangelist Chukwuebuka Anozie Obi, the Spiritual Director of the Zion Prayer Movement, led the Wednesday session by referencing key scriptures, including 2 Chronicles 7:14, Isaiah 1:18, and Jeremiah 8:4-6. He called on Zionites to seek divine forgiveness and spiritual renewal.
“Zionites, repentance is more than just asking for forgiveness; it requires a commitment to change your ways and follow God’s path,” Evangelist Obi began, emphasizing that true repentance involves a radical transformation of one’s life.
Drawing from the book of Jeremiah, Evangelist Obi reminded Zionites that God has repeatedly called His people to repentance.
In Jeremiah 8:4-5, the Lord laments that His people have turned away from Him, choosing instead to cling to their idols.
“Why do my people turn away from Me without ever turning back?
“You cling to your idols and refuse to return to Me,” Evangelist Obi quoted, urging Zionites to reassess their relationship with God.
Zionites were reminded that life on earth is temporary, much like a marketplace, and that each individual will one day face their Creator.
“Zionites, you do not know the day or the hour when your time on earth will end.
“Hebrews 9:27 reminds us that it is appointed for man to die once, and after that, the judgment.
“Where will you spend eternity?” Evangelist Obi questioned.
He urged the congregation to consider the brevity of life and the inevitability of facing God’s judgment after death.
“Zionites, you must live with eternity in mind.
“A day is coming when you will no longer be able to open your eyes, and no amount of money or power will be able to save you,” he warned.
In his message of hope, Evangelist Obi also referenced Isaiah 1:18, where God invites sinners to return to Him.
“Even if your sins are as red as scarlet, Zionites, God is willing to forgive you and cleanse you.
“Come, let us reason together. This is a divine invitation to repentance,” Evangelist Obi declared.
The Evangelist also shared the parable of the prodigal son from Luke 15:11-24, demonstrating that even the most lost soul can be forgiven and restored.
“The prodigal son squandered everything, but when he came to his senses and repented, he was received with open arms and a celebration.
“Zionites, no matter how far you have gone, repentance opens the door for restoration,” he explained.
He also reminded Zionites of Peter, who denied Jesus three times but was later forgiven after he repented and sought God’s mercy.
“Zionites, like Peter, you too can be forgiven.
“It’s never too late to come back to God,” Evangelist Obi assured.
The congregation of Zionites felt a deep sense of urgency to align their lives with God’s will, believing that repentance would bring a powerful change and divine restoration from stagnation, failure, and shame.
“Zionites, I decree that before the end of this program, your sorrow will turn to joy. Your stagnation and shame will be broken, and your failures will transform into success and prosperity in the name of Jesus,” Evangelist Obi proclaimed.
The program continued with powerful prayers of repentance, intercession, and restoration.
Zionites gathered to pray for forgiveness and healing, both for personal transgressions and for ancestral sins that may have affected their lives.
The prayer points included:
1. Asking God for mercy to forgive their sins and remove the consequences of wrongdoing.
2. Praying for the cancellation of ancestral curses that may be affecting their lives.
3. Petitioning for the restoration of everything lost due to sin, with a focus on divine mercy to recover all.
4. Interceding for Evangelist Chukwuebuka Anozie Obi and the Zion Prayer Movement Outreach.
As Zionites prayed fervently, they shared a deep sense of hope and expectation for a life-transforming encounter with God.
One Zionite shared a personal testimony: “Today’s message on repentance has opened my eyes.
“I realize that I have been living in sin, but now I am determined to turn back to God and seek His forgiveness.”
Another Zionite speaking to Diaspora digital media (DDM), expressed gratitude for the opportunity to reflect on their spiritual journey:
“This is the first time I’ve truly understood the depth of repentance.
“I know now that repentance is not just a prayer but a lifestyle.
“I will seek God’s mercy and forgiveness with sincerity.”
Throughout the session, Zionites remembered that God is merciful and always ready to forgive those who truly repent.
“The Lord is always waiting for you to return to Him, Zionites,” Evangelist Obi emphasized.
“The moment you turn back to God, He is there to welcome you, just like the father welcomed the prodigal son. It is never too late for you to come back to Him.”
As the Zionites continued in prayer, the atmosphere filled with hope and expectation for a life-transforming encounter with God.
Evangelist Obi concluded the session by reminding Zionites that repentance leads to divine favor and prosperity, both in this life and in eternity.
“Zionites, God’s mercy is available to all who repent and seek His forgiveness. Repentance is the gateway to breakthrough, healing, and restoration,” he said.
The 21-day foundational prayer program continues to inspire and challenge Zionites, as they seek spiritual renewal and transformation.
For the Zionites, the message is clear: repentance is not a one-time act but a continual return to God, leading to divine transformation, freedom, and blessings.
