2025: How gov Soludo plans to win the Anambra governorship election
DDM News

Governor Chukwuma Soludo, the current Governor of Anambra State, has been making strategic moves ahead of the Anambra governorship election scheduled for November 2025.
His preparations have largely remained under wraps, with little media attention or official campaign activity so far.
However, Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) has uncovered key strategies through a reliable source within the governor’s political camp.
The insider disclosed that Governor Soludo is focused on weakening opposition parties ahead of the crucial electoral showdown.
According to the source, the governor is allegedly offering large sums of money to prominent opposition figures across party lines.
He reportedly gave a significant financial offer to Nicholas Ukachukwu, a All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the state.
It was further alleged that over $5 million has been used to secure loyalty from political cabals within opposition parties like the APC, PDP, and others.
Soludo’s camp is reportedly working to destabilize party structures that could pose a challenge in the upcoming election.
The source also claimed the governor had entered into a political alliance with President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to the informant, Soludo has promised to deliver Anambra State to Tinubu in the next presidential poll.
This alleged political pact is believed to be part of a wider deal for Soludo to secure Tinubu’s federal support.
DDM was told the governor is confident of victory in the November 2025 election due to weak opposition and favorable political alignments.
The source pointed to the Labour Party’s internal crisis following a Supreme Court ruling as a factor reducing Soludo’s major challenges.
On April 4, 2025, the Supreme Court removed Julius Abure as National Chairman of the Labour Party, ending months of internal crisis.
The court ruled that lower courts had no jurisdiction over internal party leadership issues.
It also noted that Abure’s tenure had expired, making his continued leadership invalid.
His removal followed allegations of ₦3.5 billion misappropriation and his replacement by a caretaker committee led by Senator Nenadi Usman.
The apex court upheld the committee’s legitimacy, dismissing Abure’s appeal.
This judgment deepened existing tensions within the party, even as it clarified legal limits on court involvement in party leadership matters.
Following this crisis, Soludo’s camp believes that the Labour Party candidate was elected under an unconstitutional leadership structure led by Abure.
With Peter Obi reportedly expressing support for Soludo’s second-term bid, the Labour Party is seen as less of a threat.
The insider noted that Obi’s influence in Anambra remains strong, and his backing could tilt the balance in Soludo’s favor.
Observers believe Soludo’s strategy is aimed at securing dominance across both political and grassroots structures before the poll.
DDM was also informed that community leaders and traditional rulers are being subtly aligned with the governor’s reelection mission.
So far, there has been no official response from the APC or Labour Party regarding the alleged financial inducements.
Soludo’s team has also not commented on the claims or the reported alliance with President Tinubu for 2027.
Political analysts say Soludo may be leveraging his performance in office and national influence to consolidate power ahead of November.
More revelations are expected as the election draws near, with many watching how opposition parties respond to these reported moves.
