Veteran Nigerian singer, Innocent Ujah Idibia, popularly known as 2Face or 2Baba, has finally responded to recent viral allegations.

His reaction followed a video posted by a woman identified as his mother, who claimed he had been kidnapped.

According to Diaspora digital media (DDM) reports, the viral video caused widespread concern among fans and sparked fresh conversations on social media platforms across Nigeria.

In the video, the woman emotionally stated that 2Face had disappeared and could not be traced anywhere.

She pleaded for help from the public, alleging that her son had been taken without any form of contact.

This disturbing claim surfaced amid heightened speculation about 2Face’s marital troubles with his wife, Annie Idibia.

Rumors of divorce had been circulating online, with various blogs reporting issues between the couple.

Many fans were unsure whether the kidnapping claim was genuine or connected to the singer’s ongoing personal issues.

For weeks, 2Face remained silent about the situation, offering no public response or clarification.

However, during a recent appearance at a comedy event, 2Face addressed the situation with sarcasm and humor.

He said, “Allegedly, I have been missing. Allegedly, I have been kidnapped.”

He then added, “So as we come to the Acapella show, this show is to generate money for the kidnappers to release me.”

The audience responded with laughter, clearly understanding his sarcastic tone and joking manner.

The statement was his first public comment since the video emerged and quickly went viral.

By joking about the situation, 2Face dismissed the claims without directly confronting them.

Reports by DAILY POST confirm that the singer has made several public appearances since the kidnapping allegation surfaced.

He was seen at events and was active on social media during the period he was allegedly missing.

This further contradicted his mother’s claims and reassured fans that he was safe.

2Face, one of Nigeria’s most celebrated artists, gained fame in the early 2000s with the hit song “African Queen.”

He began his music career with the Plantashun Boiz group before going solo and becoming a household name across Africa.

Over the years, he has remained consistent in the entertainment industry, winning numerous local and international awards.

His marriage to actress Annie Idibia has faced several public challenges, including allegations of infidelity and emotional stress.

Despite the turbulence, the couple has managed to stay together and raise their children in the spotlight.

The recent claims by his mother added another chapter to his already complicated public narrative.

While the motivation behind the mother’s statement remains unclear, it has stirred confusion and speculation among fans.

2Face’s sarcastic response suggests he does not view the allegation as serious or worthy of concern.

No official police report has been released regarding any investigation into a possible kidnapping.

As of now, authorities have not confirmed whether the claim was ever formally reported or followed up.

Fans continue to express mixed feelings, with some blaming his mother while others urge 2Face to address the issue seriously.

Regardless, the musician seems focused on his performances and personal peace amid the ongoing rumors and public drama.
