2face’s mother begs lawmaker to leave her son
DDM News

The mother of veteran singer Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2face, has called on Nigerians to help her plead with Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru to leave her son.
According to Diaspora digital media (DDM) Mrs. Rose Idibia, in a video that went viral on Thursday evening, expressed concern over her son’s emotional state, attributing it to his ongoing divorce proceedings with his estranged wife, Annie Idibia.
She urged Osawaru to “free” 2face, claiming that he was not in his right state of mind and was being influenced.
“Good evening, Nigerians. My name is Mrs. Rose Idibia, the mother of 2face. This message is for Miss Natasha Osawaru of Edo State. I’m calling on all mothers in Nigeria to help me beg her to free my son.
“My son is going through a divorce process, and he is clearly not in his right senses now. I know my son well. That is not him.
“Please, Natasha, the beads you put on his hand and on his neck—remove them and free him,” she pleaded.
Her emotional appeal followed the circulation of a video showing 2face proposing to Osawaru, a moment that has sparked widespread reactions on social media.
In the viral clip, the singer and the lawmaker were seen dancing together before he presented her with a ring, sealing the moment with a long embrace.
This public proposal came just a day after 2face confirmed his relationship with Osawaru, further fueling speculation about the cause of his marital crisis with Annie.
The musician recently addressed rumors linking him to the lawmaker, stating that his new romance had nothing to do with his troubled marriage.
In a video posted on Instagram, the African Queen crooner defended Osawaru, insisting that she was not responsible for his separation from Annie.
“Hon. Natasha has been dragged, she has been called all sorts of names, she has been labeled as a home breaker.
“She is a young, brilliant, amazing woman, and she had nothing to do with what is happening between me and Annie in our marriage.
“Yes, I love her. She is amazing, she is cool, I want to marry her,” he declared.
The singer’s statement, however, has not convinced his mother, who remains worried about her son’s decisions and state of mind.
2face and Annie have had a turbulent marriage, with past allegations of infidelity and family conflicts surfacing over the years.
Their separation has been the subject of intense public scrutiny, and Mrs. Idibia fears that her son is being manipulated at a vulnerable moment.
As reactions continue to trail the unfolding drama, many Nigerians remain divided—some supporting 2face’s new relationship, while others question his choices.
For now, his mother remains adamant in her plea, hoping that Osawaru will heed her call and release her son from what she believes is undue influence.
