Minister, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Nyesom Wike, on Saturday issued what appears to be a last warning to kidnappers and their network of snitches who have levied insecurity on the nation’s capital stating that the gloves are no off for him as far as tackling kidnapping, baditry and other forms of crime.

He made this statement while at a town hall security meeting in Kuje.

The minister used the opportunity to express shock at the state of road dilapidation in the local council, promising remedies soon.

On the security matter, Wike urged residents to provide relevant information to security agencies, assuring them of the government’s readiness to tackle insecurity head-on. Wike emphasized that the time for criminals and their informants was up, and he encouraged repentance before facing the consequences.

The minister highlighted the importance of vigilance groups and their empowerment, ensuring that they are profiled, known by security agencies, and actively involved in addressing security challenges.

He urged residents not to be afraid and to collaborate with security agencies by providing information.

Expressing shock at the state of roads in Kuje Area Council, Wike vowed to revisit the council’s file and initiate the construction of motorable roads for the residents.

He promised to address the infrastructural needs of the area and assured the community that changes would be implemented.

The Council Chairman, Abdullahi Suleiman Sabo, commended Wike’s intervention in the six area councils and urged him to remain resilient in addressing the challenges posed by insecurity.

The minister pledged to continue working towards the security and development of the FCT.
