Late kid of Dowen College Saga laid to rest two years after, amidst tears

Late Dowen College student, Sylvester Oromoni Jr, who tragically passed away on November 30, 2021, was finally laid to rest on Saturday after a two-year quest for justice.
Born on December 4, 2009, the 12-year-old was finally buried at the family’s compound in Ogbe-Ijoh, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State.
Oromoni Jnr died under controversial circumstance after taking ill at the school.
There were allegations of negligence against the school especially when there prima facie case of bullying suffered by the deceased.
The funeral drew the attention of numerous dignitaries, evoking deep emotions as family members, friends, and well-wishers grieved Sylvester’s untimely passing.
During the ceremony, Revd Goodluck Bayagbon of the God’s Grace Ministry, Warri, delivered a moving sermon focused on living a life worth emulating and striving to be candidates for heaven, drawing from the book of Isaiah 57:1-2, titled ‘Forever With The Lord’.
He portrayed Sylvester as a true believer in Christ and stressed the importance of celebrating his life and embodying his virtues.
Human rights lawyer Femi Falana also honored Sylvester, acknowledging the significant impact the young boy made during his short life and praising the family’s steadfast determination to seek justice.
On the second anniversary of Sylvester’s passing, the father reaffirmed the family’s unwavering dedication to pursuing justice, expressing their readiness to persevere in their quest for justice, regardless of the time it may take, even if it lasts thirty years.
The poignant ceremony conveyed the love and respect for Sylvester, unveiling the profound influence he had on the lives of those who knew him.
