State road traffic managers partner sports commission boss in Nigeria on taming highway lawlessness

Engr. Michael Bamidele, the acting Chief Executive Officer of the Kwara State Road Traffic Management Authority (KWARTMA), recently emphasized the importance of road users abiding by traffic laws in Kwara, particularly in Ilorin.

He stated that traffic officers will no longer tolerate lawlessness on the highways.During a courtesy visit to the office of the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission (KSC), Engr. Bamidele (Pictured right) stressed the need for a more effective traffic system in Kwara.

He highlighted the increasing concern over traffic law infractions and the need for a change in mindset among the people.

Engr. Bamidele expressed the importance of involving stakeholders like Coach Bola Mogaji, the Executive Chairman of KSC, in the efforts to improve traffic management in Kwara.

He believes that collaboration with key individuals will help in bringing sanity to the roads.Coach Mogaji (pictured left) also emphasized the impact of unmanageable traffic on the effectiveness of facilities like the stadium.

He cited a specific example of traffic congestion outside the stadium, where vehicles and motorcycles often mount road curbs to avoid detours. Coach Mogaji stressed the importance of traffic officers enforcing discipline to address such issues.

As a result of the meeting, the CEO of KWARTMA appointed Coach Mogaji as a Marshal for the traffic management agency.

This partnership between KWARTMA and the Sports Commission aims to enhance traffic management efforts in Kwara and promote a safer road environment for all road users.

It is crucial for all road users to adhere to traffic laws and regulations to ensure a smooth flow of traffic and enhance road safety in Kwara.
