Management board of Kano Pillars FC has apologized to the Executive and other members of the Kano State chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, over a misunderstanding between a senior SWAN national officer and the club’s technical crew.

There had been a ding-dong between the club and journalists which led to a boycott of coverage of all the club’s activities during home and away matches.

In a statement by the Media Officer of Kano Pillars FC, Sharif Zahraddeen Usman Kofar Nassarawa, it was mentioned that the club members regretted the incident and described SWAN members and Pillars FC management as one family that has been working together for over three decades to improve the club and the sport in general.

The Pillars management requested SWAN members to put aside their differences and collaborate with the club’s officials and players to achieve the common goal of winning the 2023/2024 season Premier League Competition.

The statement also emphasized the commitment of the Kano Pillars management board to continue working with all sports journalists in Kano during home and away matches for the benefit of the club and the state as a whole.
