Nigerian starlets Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze have been pictured with Arsenal boss Arsenal Wenger and chief executive Ivan Gazidis, suggesting the announcement of the duo’s signings should be a matter of when rather than if.

Both Chukwueze and Nwakali played pivotal roles at the U17 World Cup last year, providing sterling performances that ultimately helped the Golden Eaglets lift the trophy in Chile. Both fantastic guys are products of Diamond football Club Umuahia.

The London Club, which enjoy a great followership in Nigeria, are ready to avail Nwakali and Chukwueze the platform to blossom, to become world-class stars.

ESPN FC had quoted Wenger on Friday as saying talks were “progressing well” but that the pair were still waiting for the required paperwork to be sorted out.

“Of course there are work permit issues. There are medical issues because they have to make medicals, but it’s progressing well,” Wenger said at his news conference ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup game against Burnley.

“If we can get it over the line now during this transfer period, we will do it.”

Nwakali was named the best player at the last FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile and was understandably pursued by a number of top European clubs, including Manchester City and Bayern Munich among others.
