World Cup: Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo Out Of Russia

The world lost Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo from the World Cup on the same day!

Argentine superstar, Messi and Portuguese legend, Ronaldo are out of the FIFA Russia 2018 World Cup after their teams lost to their respective opponents on Saturday.

First it was Messi’s Argentina that crashed out to France after a thriller that produced seven goals.

France’s Antoine Griezmann had opened the score chart for France through a penalty kick in the 13th minute which somehow dampened the mortale of the Argentines.

Di María fired in a powerful volley in the 41st minute which sat the two teams part ways level at Half Time.

Second half produced five more goals that eventually saw France into quarter-finals and Messi and his camp bid goodbye to Russia.

The other encounter involving Ronaldo was even more pathetic as one man, Edinson Cavani proved to be thorn in the flesh of Portugal.

Pepe’s headed equalizer could not save the day as Cavani popped in a double for Uruguay.

Though Portugal dominated possession, it however could not create the needed chances to score.

Not even the Ronaldo magic could save the day as Uruguay held their ground.

At the end of the day it was Luis Suarez’ side that took all the smiles home as a dismantled Ronaldo walked out of the pitch sullen.

Uruguay will trade tackles with France in the quarterfinals.
