Nigerian Striker, Mawoyeka, Dies During Match In Turkey

A Nigerian professional footballer in Turkey, Ekundayo Ebenezer Mawoyeka, has dropped dead during a match between his club, Sarayköyspor and Yeşilköyspor on Sunday.

It was gathered that Mawoyeka, aged 23, died of heart attack during the match.

Euronews reported that Mawoyeka slumped in the 35th minute of play at the Servergazi Stadium.

He was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance but never got to the hospital alive.

First responders said that he died of heart attack.

The death of the Nigerian striker led to the postponement of the match.
