KOGI: 25 Passengers Burnt To Death in Accident

A horrifying catastrophe that happened on Sunday at Aloma in the Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State claimed the lives of no fewer than 25 people.

According to trustworthy sources, the tragedy happened early on Sunday morning when an articulated vehicle and a fully loaded Toyota Sienna bus collided.

According to eyewitness accounts, the two cars collided while attempting to avoid a pothole on the road. The vehicles instantly took fire, killing all of the occupants.

Two buses and a trailer were involved in the collision, which occurred in front of Aloma Teachers’ College, according to another eyewitness who spoke with DDM News.

“Everyone on the Toyota bus, including the driver, perished from burns.

There was not a single survivor among those in the burning Sienna bus. In the process, an articulated vehicle that was packed close to the incident caught fire and burned to the ground. The blazing inferno also destroyed a residence nearby to the scene.

Aloma resident Adejo Usman stated, “We are yet to confirm of any survivor, aside from those in the packed articulated vehicle.”

He claimed that because the villagers lacked combat gear, they were powerless to free some stranded travelers.

When reached, Mr. Samuel Ayodeji, the Federal Road Safety Corps’ (FRSC) Kogi State Sector Commander, was unable to provide a response.
