Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC) has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to relieve Prof. Yakubu Mahmood of his position as the Chairman of INEC, in order to avert looming damages that could strike the country in the forthcoming 2023 general election.

Ohanaeze Youth Council, OYC, the apex socio-cultural youth organization of Ndigbo has expressed acrimony over what it termed a deliberate delay in according the due recognition to Chief Edozie Njoku, as the authentic National chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Speaking amidst bitterness, on behalf of the Council, the National President, Comrd. Igboayaka O. Igboayaka, who spoke to newsmen on Friday July 22nd, 2022, at Abuja, expressed utter disappointment and dissatisfaction over the blunt refusal of INEC to issue Chief Njoku a certificate as the party’s chairman.

Justice A.R. Mohammed of the Federal High Court Abuja Division in Suit No: FHC/BAU/CS/10/2020 in Motion No. FHC/BAU/M/41/2020 between Chief Edozie Njoku & Others Vs Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) & another; and the lead Judgment of the Supreme Court of Nigeria delivered by Hon.
