Ebonyi state government has debunked claim of a woman being killed by herdsmen in the South-East state.
There were claims of corpse of a young lady from Amaporo village, being found along a bush path between Agbebor, Isu and Onicha-Igboeze communities after allegedly being killed by herdsmen on social media yesterday July 27.
Photos shared on social media showed the young lady lying lifeless on a pile of firewood with her throat slit.
Reacting to the claim, Commissioner for Information in Ebonyi state, Uchenna Orji said there’s no evidence so far to link the murder to herdsmen.
Orji also stated that there are no herdsmen residing in the area and it believed that the attack was carried out by criminal elements in the area while she was returning from a neighbouring village
