Operatives of the Nigerian Army in Borno State

The Nigerian Army has stated that it gave terrorists bloody nose during a recent counter offensive on Damboa-Maiduguri road in Borno State in sustained operations to clear the North East of terrorism.

In a publication made on its website today, January 24, it noted that gallant troops of 25 Task Force Brigade of Operation Hadin Kai, with close air support, on Monday, 23 January, again neutralized several terrorists of the ISWAP and BokoHaram stock.

According to the report, the counter offensive followed the terrorists’ failed ambush on troops on the Damboa-Maiduguri road.

The report added that the troops also recovered MRAP, motorcycles, weapons, and medical suppliers, amongst others.

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, commended the troops for their gallantry and exploits.

He urged them not to relent until terrorism and other criminalities are brought to an end in the Northeastern region.

The Army also greatly appreciate the locals and well-meaning Nigerians for their prayers and support that have contributed to the successes being recorded in the war against the terrorists in the North East. Read more.
