The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has reached an agreement with Dangote Petroleum Refinery to lift petroleum products directly.
This arrangement aims to make petrol more affordable and ensure a steady supply across Nigeria.
IPMAN National President, Abubakar Garima, announced the development during a press briefing in Abuja, following the association’s National Working Committee meeting.
According to Garima, this partnership allows IPMAN to procure PMS, AGO, and DPK directly from the Dangote refinery, bypassing intermediaries, which should stabilize prices nationwide.
After a recent meeting with Aliko Dangote and his team in Lagos, Garima said, “The Dangote Refinery has agreed to supply products directly to IPMAN depots and retail stations, which will ensure a continuous and affordable fuel supply across the country.”
The move is expected to eliminate extra financing costs associated with intermediaries, thus benefiting consumers.
In addition, IPMAN has committed to supporting the Federal Government’s initiative to expand CNG refill stations nationwide, helping promote a sustainable energy future.
Energy expert Kelvin Emmanuel highlighted that this direct supply could reduce additional costs incurred by intermediaries, making fuel more affordable.
IPMAN also plans to partner with the government to expedite the CNG program, aligning with Nigeria’s long-term economic and environmental goals.
